These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Quillo mobile application (“Quillo”, “the app”, “we”, “us”). By downloading or using Quillo, you agree to these Terms.
If you don’t agree, please don’t use Quillo.
To use Quillo’s full features you’ll create an account, either anonymously, with an email address, or via Sign in with Apple or Google.
You are responsible for activity under your account. Don’t share your sign-in credentials with anyone.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account.
Quillo offers auto-renewing subscriptions and one-time consumable credit packs through Apple’s App Store. Current plans:
| Plan | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Quillo Monthly | $4.99 / month | 30 credits per month |
| Quillo Yearly | $49.99 / year | 360 credits per year |
| Quillo+ Monthly | $9.99 / month | 60 credits per month + voice choice + offline downloads |
| Quillo+ Yearly | $99.99 / year | 720 credits per year + voice choice + offline downloads |
| Top-up Pack | $4.99 | 25 additional credits, no expiry |
Prices are in USD and may vary in your local currency. Apple’s App Store will display the price in your local currency before purchase.
Auto-renewal. Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Your iTunes account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
Cancelling. Manage or cancel your subscription in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your device. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep access until then.
Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple per their standard App Store policy. Contact Apple Support to request a refund. We are not able to issue refunds directly.
Credits. Subscription credits roll up to your monthly cap (you can’t accumulate beyond one cycle’s worth from your subscription). Top-up credits do not expire and are not capped.
Failed payments. If a payment fails, Apple will retry for up to 16 days while keeping your subscription active (this is Apple’s “billing grace period”). If payment cannot be recovered, your subscription will be cancelled.
Quillo uses third-party AI services (OpenAI for text and images, Cartesia for audio) to generate stories from your prompts. You retain ownership of stories generated for you.
By generating a story, you agree:
Stories you generate appear on Quillo’s public Discover feed by default, where other Quillo users can listen to and “heart” them. Your account identifier is not publicly displayed.
If you don’t want your stories to be public, delete them individually or delete your account.
When using Quillo you agree not to:
We reserve the right to remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
Quillo and the app design, brand, and underlying software are owned by us. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes.
You retain ownership of stories generated for you. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, transmit, and display your stories within Quillo and on the public Discover feed.
Quillo is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not guarantee:
To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event will we be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Quillo. Our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
We may suspend or terminate your access to Quillo at any time if you violate these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may stop using Quillo and delete your account at any time.
Your subscription, if any, is governed by Apple’s billing terms — termination of your Quillo account does not automatically cancel an active App Store subscription. Cancel separately in your device’s Subscription settings.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be communicated in-app. Continued use of Quillo after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
The following terms are required by Apple for any application distributed through the App Store. They apply in addition to the rest of these Terms. In the event of any conflict between this section and the rest of these Terms, this section governs to the extent required by Apple.
Acknowledgement. You and we acknowledge that these Terms are concluded between you and us only, and not with Apple, Inc. (“Apple”). We — not Apple — are solely responsible for Quillo and its content. These Terms do not provide for usage rules for Quillo that conflict with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions as of the date you entered into these Terms (which you acknowledge you have had the opportunity to review).
Scope of licence. The licence granted to you for Quillo is limited to a non-transferable licence to use Quillo on any Apple-branded products that you own or control, and as permitted by the Usage Rules set forth in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, except that Quillo may also be accessed and used by other accounts associated with the purchaser via Family Sharing or volume purchasing.
Maintenance and support. We are solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support services with respect to Quillo, as specified in these Terms or as required by applicable law. You and we acknowledge that Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance and support services with respect to Quillo.
Warranty. We are solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent not effectively disclaimed. In the event of any failure of Quillo to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for Quillo to you; and to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple will have no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to Quillo. As between Apple and us, any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty will be our sole responsibility.
Product claims. You and we acknowledge that, as between Apple and us, we — not Apple — are responsible for addressing any claims of you or any third party relating to Quillo or your possession and/or use of Quillo, including but not limited to: (i) product liability claims; (ii) any claim that Quillo fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation, including in connection with Quillo’s use of HealthKit and HomeKit frameworks (where applicable).
Intellectual property rights. You and we acknowledge that, in the event of any third-party claim that Quillo or your possession and use of Quillo infringes that third party’s intellectual property rights, we — not Apple — will be solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement, and discharge of any such intellectual property infringement claim.
Legal compliance. You represent and warrant that (i) you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a “terrorist supporting” country; and (ii) you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
Developer name and address. For questions, complaints, or claims with respect to Quillo, please contact us at the email address listed in the Contact section below.
Third-party terms of agreement. You must comply with applicable third-party terms of agreement when using Quillo.
Third-party beneficiary. You and we acknowledge and agree that Apple, and Apple’s subsidiaries, are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and that, upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary thereof.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator of Quillo is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
